Business Title: Assistant Store Manager

ROLE SUMMARY

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in motivating, inspiring their team and maximizing profit performance by achieving KPI’s targets. The successful candidate will support the Store Manager to analyse week to date, period to date, and year to date KPI’s, and develop action plans to drive top line sales. He/she will also ensuring the individual and collective skills are used effectively, and both staff and customer experience is positive while inspiring team and clients to our brand and lifestyle image and products

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure a welcoming environment for the customer by greeting and assisting
  • Ensure store personnel provides exceptional customer service. Working alongside with Store Manager in the implementation of customer service standards
  • Train staff in all aspects including product knowledge, store operations, retail policies and procedures and brand values
  • Work alongside with the Store Manager in identifying training needs and providing ongoing training support to the team as needed
  • Assist the Store Manager in the achievement of store inventory shrink targets, communication and enforcement of all loss prevention and inventory control policies and procedures
  • Assists Store Manager in partnering with corporate office personnel to increase KPI’s and drive/promote merchandise categories
  • Ensures all visual merchandising guidelines are met at all times
  • Receives regular vendor deliveries and stocks sales floor in a timely manner
  • Arrange weekly store scheduling, ensuring coverage during holiday, sickness and peak trading periods
  • Assist the manager in carrying out all staff appraisals and counselling/disciplinary procedures, in conjunction with management and HR department
  • Be fully competent in the operation of the POS System and utilize report facilities to analyze business needs
  • Carry out and maintain all health and safety requirements, and ensure the store is operated as a safe working area in accordance with local legislation
  • Observe all procedures with regard to securing the premises, staff, company monies and stock
  • Ultimately, take full responsibility for the store in the manager’s absence
